MineralBuilt walls pair the cost-effectiveness and construction efficiencies of open-wall stud construction with the robust durability of masonry construction.
MineralBuilt walls ease trade coordination and shorten construction schedules. Unlike traditional masonry and new foam-sandwich block wall systems, MineralBuilt walls accommodate many types of insulation, plumbing, and wiring. This flexibility supports local trade practices, accommodates owner preferences, allows assemblies to be customized to their climates, and economically meets the newest energy codes. Electrical, low-voltage, and plumbing rough-ins, as well as insulation, air, and water barriers, can all be scheduled, installed, and inspected independently of the masonry installation. This scheduling freedom improves productivity for masons, reduces schedule dependencies between trades, and shortens the critical-path construction schedule.
MineralBuilt wall blocks are produced by conventional block plants already existing in local markets around the United States, and can be produced on standard equipment at a rate 50% greater than conventional 8-inch hollow block while using a third less cement and aggregate. Because the MineralBuilt wall system does not require special shapes for corners and openings, plant operations are streamlined and color variation in architectural block is reduced.
By providing a practical, efficient, and site-friendly system of masonry construction, MineralBuilt provides contractors, architects, and engineers a better way to achieve the strength and durability of building with non-combustible minerals without sacrificing the speed, flexibility, and ease of modern open-wall construction.
